ECHOES OF BUTOH

The project articulates the tension between individual development and the social criteria of "human": it problematizes the boundaries of recognition of personality by society and explores the experience of existence at the turn of society and the "outer darkness" — a space where morality dissolves and identity is reassembled. Inspired by Butoh aesthetics with its poetics of disincarnation, the project interprets the hero's path as a ritual movement from chaos to a place in society — as an act of acquiring an external form through overcoming subjective uncertainty.

Visual language is built as a polyphony of documentary and artificial: photographs capture the materiality of the search, and AI images form an epic context and states of objects that cannot be directly captured, thus forming a mix media structure where the clash of the real and synthetic becomes a metaphor for the dialectic of internal and external, personal and collective.
